Two new blog series
Obviously on Mondays, I will provide a bit of a jumpstart to the week and bring back the inspirational posts of “fitspo” or fitness inspiration and some workout music.
Then on Wednesday, I will bring back the nutrition news posts and enlighten you all about what is going on in the world of nutrition.
I hope to have more time this semester, but one can never plan on the events that end up happening so we will see how long I can keep it up 🙂
In other news, I’m not sure if I said this, but a few months ago, I PR’d my 5k. I ran a 20:29 and felt really good about it. I was comfortable the whole time and smooth. I know that is not my fullest potential, but it is moving in the right direction. My running lately has not been so great as I continue to get hit with sickness. But I’m still working my butt off and hope to see some good things by outdoor track. But don’t worry, because even if we don’t, I have my whole life to get that sub 20.
You want to know what irritates me? Gyms that don’t have a month membership. I’m home for winter break and all I want to do is go cross train, lift a few weights, and have a place to run when it’s 38 mph wind and snowing. But either it’s extremely expensive or you have to sign a year contract. I’m only here for about 3 weeks, cut me some slack!
I’ve been doing a lot of relaxing this break because I don’t have a job anymore. It’s bittersweet. Bitter as in I don’t have as much money to play around with, sweet as in I’m glad I get to spend time with my family and don’t have to deal with the old job.
This guy definitely enjoys it. He has spent a lot of time snuggling with me.
I made sure I finished the Hunger Games trilogy last night before the world ended. It’s about time, right? I’ve been so busy with school that I’ve been stuck on Mockingjay since summer. I really enjoyed it and love the whole series. I will admit, Mockingjay was a bit boring until about halfway in. Then it started getting interesting and with the last quarter to go I couldn’t stop. I wish they never ended 🙁
Now to figure out what the next book I am going to read will be. I’m thinking of Divergent. It is also a trilogy.

5k PR: 20:32
It is now outdoor track time which means 10k training starts. I am seriously so pumped. I am putting in so much work and it is slowly but surely paying off.
I just pr’d my 5k by almost 30 seconds. I hope to shave off another 30 seconds in a good race and great weather. But my main goal is to make it to conference to run the 10k. I will work my rear end off in hopes of that happening. Otherwise, I will race a half marathon at the end of my season regardless so I have something to continue to train and work hard for.
Nothing much else to update on besides the fact school is killing me and it is hard. Nutrition 2 will be the death of me.
I am working towards a goal of reading at least 7 books this year and I’m almost finished with The Help. Thank goodness because I have been waiting and waiting to watch the movie. Then I will read the Hunger Games to get ready for those movies.
I just bought a kindle fire because I felt I deserved it and because my kindle keyboard wasn’t as cool. It will come in handy still for when I read outside. I am going to try and keep my Goodreads account updated if you are interested in books and/or reading which much like the running community, is a small percentage of people.
