Motivational Monday #29

Workouts

On Monday I ran 3.7 miles. I had plans to run throughout the week, but I just didn’t feel like it and that was okay. I ran on Saturday, but only 1.2 miles as I wanted to make a smoothie and needed some orange juice. So I ran a mile then ran to Walgreen’s and walked home. I also did a Nike Training Club workout and am going to start incorporating those into my weeks. 

I was trying to find a race to increase my motivation to get out of the door and put solid training in, but just couldn’t find one that was worth the money. Now that I have limited funds, I have to be choosy. I was looking at the Hot Chocolate race series because they normally have great swag, however I wasn’t a fan of the pullover. If it looked like the Magnificent Mile jacket then I would’ve signed up ASAP.

Motivational Monday #27 + Caffeine Protein Smoothie Recipe

Workouts

This is crazy but I went on one of my longest runs in quite some time on Saturday. The weather finally cooled off so I hit the trail. Now I really took a route that was longer than 3.5 but had some stops along the way. I underestimated the humidity….but I chose to take advantage of my walk breaks and did lunges in between my bouts of running. 

I didn’t live up to my goals I set myself for July when it came to running, but I’m okay with it. I will set the same goals for August and see how I do. But I’m enjoying this nice post workout drink currently that adds in some caffeine boost!
