Bring on the Good Times

Since being back at school, I have had two great workouts that have increased my self confidence about running some great times (for me) in the future! We had a 2k, 2k, 1k, 1k, 4x200m workout last week and then this week we had a mile, 1k, mile, 1k, mile, 4x200m workout.

For my miles I hit around 6:20, 6:26, 6:22 which is a big difference than what I was accomplishing over winter break. We had 90 sec rest between intervals, and when we had just a 3×1 mile with 800m after, and minutes of rest in between, I couldn’t even hit 6:36. So being able to run 6:20ish comfortably and smooth was awesome on Tuesday.

I’m excited to see what I can accomplish in the next few months, but also love the fact that running is a sport that continues after college. So I have many years to continue to break my personal bests!

What I’m really looking forward to is the spring weather to come!

Let’s get crafty!

So over break, I dove into some crafts. My father helped me put this one together, especially the mesh.

I have this problem, where I buy earrings, wear them and then take them off at random times of the day. Then I somehow lose them. I swear it’s The Borrower’s

the borrowersWell anyway, I wanted to create an earring holder. So a trip to Dollar Tree and Lowe’s and all the supplies were purchased. We bought some picture frames, brushes, splatter screens and a sample size of paint.

Picture frame = $0.25 each
Splatter Screen = $1.00 each
Brushes = $1.00
Paint = $4.00 approximately

IMG_3077Painted the picture frames and then my dad cut the splatter screen to act as mesh tiny enough for stud earrings. We decided to sandwich the frames together which helped the screen stay tight and made a thicker holder.

Now I just need to hunt around for all of my stud earrings 🙂

There are a lot of projects that picture frames can be used for. Obviously Pinterest is the place to go for crafts, or Craftgawker. Some future projects that I would love to do involving picture frames are:
